Human trafficking raid in Scots town as four people charged

Police have charged four people following a human trafficking raid in a Perthshire town. Officers arrested three men aged 37, 39 and 53 and a 53-year-old woman after the intelligence-led operation in the Blairgowrie area yesterday morning.

The four people were subsequently charged and they will  appear at court on Monday. The activity – which police have dubbed Operation Barramundi – was launched after information was received from the UK Government’s National Referral Mechanism, the framework for identifying and referring potential victims of modern slavery.
