A three-year-old girl allegedly raped by a teenage nursery assistant had to be interviewed by police about the incident using gingerbread models.

The toddler was shown a gingerbread girl with long hair and a boy with no hair, the Exeter Crown Court trial of Jayden McCarthy heard today.

In a video interview shown to the jury the little girl, who was three at the time of the alleged offence in July 2019, was asked about telling her mummy that ‘someone has been naughty at nursery’.
